Raffle Set To Reward Lucky Winners
Updated: Thursday 13 February 2020
Ten lucky players will win Mercedes-Benz C200 Cabriolets in the big Raffle draw on Friday 10 January, with thousands of other ticket holders set to land cash prizes. Find out more about the special event known as ‘Raffle 5.’
How the Raffle Works
The National Lottery Raffle only takes place around once a year and differs from other games in a number of ways. It offers luxury non-cash prizes such as cars or houses in the top division, while all the advertised prizes are guaranteed to be won and there are only limited tickets on sale.
Tickets for the Raffle - the fifth to take place since it was launched in 2016 - went on sale back in October. There were 500,000 tickets available, all displaying a unique number.
The winning numbers will be selected in Friday’s draw at 21:00 and you must match one of these exactly in order to receive the associated prize. There are 2,345 prizes up for grabs altogether, making the overall odds of winning 1 in 213.
As well as the 10 Mercedes Benz C200 Cabriolets in the first division, you could win a cash prize of either R1,000, R10,000 or R50,000. If you do win, you have 365 days to come forward and claim your prize.
Winners of the car will also be invited to attend a special ceremony to be held at the Ithuba offices in Johannesburg. If you do win one of the top prizes, you will have to make your claim within 30 days of the draw otherwise you will have to wait at least 180 days to receive it.
This is the first Raffle to have taken place since the ‘Home Sweet Home’ Raffle in December 2019, which gave six winners R2 million each to spend on new homes in South Africa.
Previous Raffles have traditionally taken place in the days between Christmas and New Year - with the exception of one draw which was held in May 2017. Winners have benefitted from new homes, R1 million cash prizes, Mini Cooper convertibles and Mercedes Benz C-Class Cabriolets.
The latest game promises to make it the perfect start to 2020 for all the winners. Find out if you are one of them by going to the Raffle Results page after Friday’s draw to see the winning numbers.Published: Friday 10 January 2020
