How to Play Rapido

Rapido is a new, fast-paced game where players can win up to R750,000 every five minutes. Launched by the South Africa National Lottery, the first draw took place on Sunday 27th August 2017. Draws are held every five minutes between 05:00am and 11:45pm, giving players a chance to win big several times a day, seven days a week.

Rapido can currently be played in the Gauteng, Kwa-Zulu Natal, North West and Mpumalanga provices in South Africa, where tickets can be bought from authorised retailers.

There are 11 prize tiers in Rapido, and the amount players can win depends on how much they initially bet, and the winning numbers drawn. The below table shows what prizes can be won based on the numbers matched and the bet placed.

Playing at a Local Retailer

To enter, players must buy a ticket from any authorised retailer and select eight numbers between 1 and 21 and one number between 1 and 4, or use the Quick Pick option to randomly generate these numbers.

Players must then choose the amount they want to bet - varying between a minimum R3 bet and the maximum R25 - and choose the number of draws they wish to enter. Tickets can be validated at any retailer, and players can find out if they're a winner by checking their numbers online or on the in-store monitor.

Rapido is only available to play within South Africa at authorised retailers, and cannot be played online or by players outside of South Africa.
